You might not think of Las Vegas as the best spot for a family vacation, but as they say, “The Times They Are A-Changin’.” Amid the many world-class entertainers in Vegas, a niche has emerged for those offering family-friendly shows and activities. Our list below outlines five of the best family-friendly shows in Las Vegas, from humor and action comedy to magic, dancing, juggling and everything in between.
Five Shows For the Whole Family
Blue Man Group
The iconic trio known as Blue Man Group has been performing in Las Vegas for over thirty years. Their funny and musical show is currently playing daily at Luxor Hotel and Casino, with up to three shows per day, for plenty of flexibility to fit them into your vacation schedule. The show is a combination of music, comedy, color and communication. The three performers do not speak during the show, communicating entirely via nonverbal means resulting in confusion and hilarity. When you are booking your tickets, know that those seats that are close to the front may be in the famous “Poncho Section,” where you may be splattered with materials from the stage. Per the name, complimentary ponchos are provided to protect your clothing. You will want to keep an eye out for the moving Drum Phoenix display on stage and have your cameras ready for the Smoke Drums, which send synchronized smoke rings out into the audience. Note that sensory-friendly showtimes are available if you reach out to the venue to book in advance.

Tape Face
If you have no idea who Tape Face is, the thick slash of black tape across his mouth will help you identify him on the stage. The New Zealand prop comic and street performer made his debut on the American entertainment scene when he was a finalist on America’s Got Talent. His eccentric comedy show at Harrah’s Las Vegas Hotel & Casino features a cast of supporting friends, but Tape Face himself is “speechless” for the duration of the show. Part mime, part clown and all humor, the kids will definitely get a kick out of the miscommunication hijinks in this show.
Jabbawockeez Timeless
The Jabbawockeez Timeless show at MGM Grand Las Vegas combines classic hip-hop choreography with trending music for a high-energy show that will always impress. The dance crew initially formed in the early 2000s in southern California before rising to fame as winners of the first season of the hit television show America’s Best Dance Crew. The team has been performing in Las Vegas since 2010 with their signature white masks and gloves. The show consists of a mix of high-energy music, dynamic dance skills and special effects with audience interaction and some freestyle bits. Even if you have two left feet, you will leave the show with a bit of extra pep in your step. Meet and greet opportunities are available before and after the show to interact with the performers, making it an excellent add-on for children and teenagers who may be looking to step on stage themselves.

V—The Ultimate Variety Show
If you can’t decide whether to go with magic, comedy, dance or drama, you can get a little bit of everything with V—the Ultimate Variety Show. The rotating cast of performing stars each has their own unique talents showcased in this classic variety-show format, including magic acts, comedians, contortionists, singers and musicians. There are two scheduled performances per night at the V Theater at Miracle Mile Shops inside Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, and the wide variety of cast members ensures that no two shows are exactly the same. From juggling to gymnastics and even performing animal guests, the audience will be awed by the quirky talents and well-honed skills on display during the show. The host keeps the fast-paced show going with humor and audience interaction for a fun family night out on the Strip.
David Copperfield
Whether you are an actual child or a just child at heart, don’t miss the opportunity to see legendary illusionist David Copperfield perform his award-winning magic! The show is held at the MGM Grand Las Vegas in an intimate theater where every seat in the house is bound to be a good one. The American illusionist is one of the most decorated magicians in history, with a career spanning four decades and nearly 40 Emmy award nominations. During the fast-paced 90-minute show, David will perform many tricks with both large-scale and small-scale illusions combined with great story-telling and audience interaction. Though this show is primarily considered family-friendly, it is advised that children be over the age of five to attend.
